Jennifer Garner was originally born in Houston Texas on April 17th 1973. However, she was raised at Charleston West Virginia. William John Garner was her father, and was a chemical engineer at Union Carbide. Patricia Ann was a teacher at the local school. She earned a degree in chemical engineering to emulate her father. In order to pursue her dream of acting and pursue her acting career, she decided to relocate into New York and try her hand in Hollywood. The restaurant she worked in was and was a part of Broadway productions. Her cameo was in the show "Felicity." (It is on this show when she met her first husband Scott Foley.) Garner was given her break by the action-thriller "Alias." The actress's first main role as a lead actress was on the critically acclaimed romantic comedy "13 Going thirty." Garner played a teenage girl trapped in a 30 year old body. Garner chose Gary Winick (director) to direct the film. Together, they searched for new projects to do until Winick passed away in 2011. Garner was made an ambassador for artists to Save the Children U.S.A. The role includes promoting national education, nutrition, and literacy as well as early learning. Garner has been on this board of trustees since 2014. Garner promotes early childhood education. Garner is an ambassador to the Early Steps to School Success Program, where she coaches parents on how to best help their children to learn.
