Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 1988) is an American performer, actor and dancer. Her first Broadway role, she was in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The actress was awarded her Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play in the role of Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of her career working alongside renowned actors and directors across stage film and television and she is continuing her award-winning collaboration with a variety of upcoming projects. Ashford will next be seen as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani on the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is working on Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust with Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The film is a Hulu Original and will be streaming on Disney DTC. The film will premiere in March 2023. Ashford returns to Broadway and play alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The production is produced by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team that brought you Hamilton. Ashford appeared as Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, which is based on the scandal that was involving Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the nation crisis. She starred in two seasons of hit CBS comedy B Positive. She also appeared in the hit series created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, that starred legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Not a stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her performance as Essie. Her additional Broadway roles includes Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the lead role in Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she was awarded a second Tony Award nomination. Born and raised in Denver Ashford now splits her time between Los Angeles and New York.
