Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born 12 November 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now Onestiin Gheorghe Gheorghiu dej, now Onesti Romania). She was the first to achieve a perfect 10 in an Olympic occasion. Comaneci was spotted by Bela Karolyi later the Romanian gymnastics instructor when she was only six years old. Comaneci was the first to compete for time in the 1969 national junior championships. She finished 13th. In the following year, she was crowned champion. In her very first international competition in 1972, she took the top spot having won three golds. Her debut as a Senior in 1975, she beat Russian Lyudmila Turkishcheva. The five-time European champion who won four gold medals and one silver. In 1976, she was the winner of the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games and was the first female in history to dismount the parallel bars using the double backward salto. In her teens she started appearing on touring shows like Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 at Chicago Illinois US. Carol began her career in entertainment in her teens. Her career began when she joined her sister Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling performance. The show featured dramatic ice skating shows.
