Jessie James Decker........................Born Jessica Rose James, Decker's somewhat exotic birthplace was a product of her being raised in a military family. Her mother was a military wife, and her family been relocated to Louisiana when Decker was just nine years old. Decker was a winner at a talent competition in which she performed the song of Patsy Montana, I Want to Be a Cowboy's Sweetheart. Decker resided in Georgia at the age of aged 15. She was beginning to compose songs, and was making regular visits in Nashville. To find an agreement, Decker visited record labels and music publishers. Her songs were being offered to record labels and other artists through a Big Yellow Dog Records agent in her teens. Decker's songs were heard from Mercury Records president David Massey and then handed over to L.A. Reid of Island/Def Jam group affiliated label group L.A. Reid was able to agree Decker to a contract. Her first album a self-titled release under the name Jessie James arrived in August 2009. Jessie James had a moderately successful debut album. Wanted, a song of the album, reached the Top 40 singles chart. Decker has always considered herself as a country singer, but the album's marketing and production was designed to appeal to a more pop-oriented audience. Decker fought with the label to gain more control over her music following two previous singles failed. The album she released next, Boys in the Summer was a more traditional album. The second album of Decker, dubbed as Daughter of a Gypsy and Sweet American Dreams by Mercury Records, was pulled after Mercury saw the poor performance of three of Decker's singles on country radio charts.
